A powerful knight and man of unparalleled beauty who wields two demonic swords and demonic spears. He was raised by Aengus, the fairy king and god of love, and Manannán, the god of the sea. Diarmuid was a member of Fionn mac Cumhaill's Knights of Fianna, and is said to have performed great feats when the knightly order fought alongside the fairy king Abarthach. As he was a master of the sword as well as the spear, he was able to manifest here as a Saber. His Saber Spirit Origin emphasizes his aspect as a hero of myth and legend. It is much more costly and difficult to summon him as a Saber than as a Lancer, presumably because he possesses multiple Noble Phantasms of almost godly power.

A virtuous Heroic Spirit who is both loyal and cordial. More or less the same person as his Lancer self, his Saber self nonetheless more knightly. Whether consciously or not, he also tends more toward self-affirmations. His Spirit Origin and performance have both improved over his Lancer iteration, but this has also made him more difficult to summon. This Spirit Origin cannot manifest until certain conditions are met, regardless of how skilled the summoner may be, and the opportunity to do so may fade away like so much mist.

Mana Burst (Jump): A As Diarmuid was raised by the gods, he gained a superhuman ability to leap great heights and distances. In consequence of this, his agility is lower than when he is summoned as a Lancer. The demonic blade Móralltach, so powerful that it seemingly commands even fate, was given to Diarmuid by Manannán, the Celtic god of the sea and the otherworld. Manannán also bestowed the Noble Phantasm Fragarach to the sun deity Lugh, and was known to possess and give away many other Noble Phantasms. Once its True Name is revealed, Diarmuid executes a superhuman leap at his enemy. At that moment, Móralltach takes a guise similar to that in the legend of "Manannán's Legs," becoming a triple blade to dispatch Diarmuid's enemies.

According to legend, whenever Diarmuid went on a life-or-death adventure, he took the demonic blade Móralltach and demonic spear Gáe Dearg. For any less dangerous expeditions, he instead brought the demonic blade Beagalltach and demonic spear Gáe Buidhe. When Diarmuid died, he was wielding the latter set of weapons. Had he ventured into the mountains with his more powerful weapons, the demon boar would have been defeated, and the strongest of the Knights of Fianna may have lived a longer life.
