Mori Naritoshi, a military commander during Japan's Warring States period, was the third son of Mori Yoshinari, one of Oda Nobunaga's retainers. As an attendant to Oda Nobunaga, Naritoshi was known by the nickname of Ranmaru. He was killed along with his lord Nobunaga in the Honnoji Incident. ...Or at least, so goes the history of Mori Ranmaru from Earth. This Mysterious Ranmaru X hails from the Planet Ranmaru, located on the far side of the galaxy, where many Mori Ranmarus live. "Ranmaru X" is the title granted only to the greatest of the Mori Ranmarus. Okay, what the hell is going on here?

Ranmaru has been summoned as an Avenger due to the Ranmarus' urge to take revenge on the treasonous lifeform known as Akechi Soul, dark scourge of the galaxy and bane of Ranmarus everywhere. That is why, when it comes to matters concerning Akechi Soul, Ranmaru can be utterly merciless and nonsensically cruel, just like all beings from Mori-related planets. However, Ranmaru hopes you can forgive that, since Ranmaru is cuteness personified the rest of the time. Ranmaru's main weapon is the Fudou Yukimitsu Saber, which attacks its targets by dimensionally splitting into countless copies of itself. This sword, also known as the Ranmaru Blade, is a legendary greatsword passed down from generation to generation on Planet Ranmaru, and is a perfect match for Ranmaru's Level 3 interstellar flying sword technique.

Ranmaru possesses a strange quality that naturally endears them to people of certain dispositions (especially ruling class types). As of this writing, scientists are still undecided as to whether this quality stems from the mysterious magical energy element known as Ranmanium imbued throughout their body. Ranmaru is also qualified to be an Ultra A-Level page, and derives boundless joy from serving their chosen lord. The eyepatch Ranmaru wears is there to contain the unique magical energy emitted by their right eye. The fact that their eyes are also different colors is just a coincidence. It is a rule on Planet Ranmaru that anyone who sees that lovely right eye must become Ranmaru's lord, or die. There is no other alternative. This particular Ranmaru, the Ranmaru among Ranmarus known as Mysterious Ranmaru X, arrived at this planet after a long space journey in response to a quiet voice calling out to them from the other edge of the galaxy. That's great and all, but it would be really nice if all of Mysterious Ranmaru X's explanations didn't just end up inviting more questions.

The utterly adorable Ranmaru fires countless blades of Fudou Yukimitsu at their target, then finishes up with a massive full-power slash. This Noble Phantasm is actually something of a surprise attack, for with no way for the targets to escape the gaze of Ranmaru's completely uncovered right eye, they become so enthralled with Ranmaru's overwhelming cuteness that they don't even think to defend themselves. Ranmaru's Fudou Yukimitsu Saber is a protective blade that showed up from who-knows-where when Ranmaru was born. As the Ranmaru Blade, this legendary greatsword is bestowed upon the Ranmaru that wins the Battle of the Ranmarus, thereby proving themself to be the strongest of all Ranmarus, and is even capable of interstellar travel. Unfortunately, its original name has been lost to time, which is why it is now known as the Ranmaru Blade.

Mori Ranmaru died alongside his lord, Oda Nobunaga, at Honnoji...or so we thought. In fact, Ranmaru alone managed to escape with his life, clutching his Demon King's head to his chest. Afterwards, he continued to honor his lord's order to protect her head up to the moment he died, resulting in it becoming part of his Noble Phantasm. As a Noble Phantasm, the Demon King's head has the power to create an infinite number of impossible historical crossroads. Depending on how it is used, it can cut off a historical "current" and change how its future course unfolds. After this Noble Phantasm was stolen from him during a certain Holy Grail War, Mori Ranmaru used the last of his strength to call out to the starry night sky for help. Please... Please, fulfill Ranmaru's wish, and keep Lady Nobunaga's head safe... Despite how frail and quiet his dying words were, Ranmaru's plea managed to reach Planet Ranmaru, a planet full of Ranmarus on the other side of the galaxy. Now, carrying the hopes and dreams of all other Ranmarus on their back, Mysterious Ranmaru X has arrived; a glittering light of hope dashing across the vast sea of stars.
